Body Dysmorphia is an affliction that has overcome many in the workout world and as a result, has caused the depression of many athletes. In this week's episode of Games, Tech, and Things we discussed the effects that this has on athletes and touched upon the ways that video games could impact those with this mental disorder. There are many ways that video games can be used to impact industries for the better, so it stands to reason that they can also affect people in negative ways. This is a prime example of this occurring as a result of the jacked and high muscle masses seen throughout video games. This is something that could be changed looking into the future as the industry changes to become more inclusive. Games such as WiiFit and Fitness Boxing are two types of games that can be used in this regard by encouraging healthy practices both physically and mentally. The mental aspect that comes from positive affirmation is important to these types of people and should be supported in future games. If the industry changes to meet this, the type of games that can be played like this is sure to grow. With all of this information in mind, an important question to ask is, what types of games should be considered for this type of mental and physical growth?

WiiFit has always been a great way to workout while having fun. I have always played that even when I was young. A game like this that helps people workout and also have fun would really help with body dysmorphia.
