Trick Shotting Through Dimensions

The complexities of Splitgates portal mechanics mirror that of Portal and shows a depth of detail that is difficult to pin down as a result. Momentum is tricky to do properly in games such as this as it could create for unfair advantages for those able to exploit the system or on the opposite end could end up with the controls feeling off or unresponsive. Alongside the momentum issues that could arise are the texture and pathway mappings that could become flawed as a result of the extra dimensional portals that take two points and connect them. While it may seem as simple connecting the two points with specially marked pathways in order to make the movement seem fluid, it is more likely that a special system is in play in order to avoid issues present in Portal. In Portal a clever player is able to abuse certain tricks in order to force their portals to go onto a specific surface in wrong ways creating ways to break out of bounds and travel to areas previously unreachable. As far as testing has shown, this type of trick isn’t possible further hinting at the possibility of a more complex portal system at work. With the experience varying from player to player, the portals add an interesting wrinkle that many can enjoy. This does leave the question on if a person feels that this wrinkle is properly fleshed out or not?

I believe that it is fleshed out well. It makes for a great and fun game.
